"Circle of Life"

There is also a part in my section that speaks of the vena cava, which “ is like the trunk of a tree of which the other veins of the body are the branches…” I pictured a tree and was able to relate the trunk of the tree as being the family, which grows and overcomes obstacles. I was thinking that maybe the circulation of the blood is relating to the circle of life, (yes, I thought of the Lion King!) because then you grow up, go out on your own (well most of us do), get married and have a family. This pattern repeats itself from generation to generation like a circle.

Diana, I lovvve how you relate the part of your section to the Lion King's Circle of Life, it makes reading that section a lot easier to understand and when Descartes is talking about the circulation of the blood, I also referred that to the circle of life, our blood pumps through our veins, keeping us alive and the tree relates to this as well because the branches are the 'veins' of the tree in a sense...I definitely think this was the best part of Descartes thinking...it was pretty easy to understand especially after you related it to something so simple as the Circle of Life...

makes sense, even if we dont produce offspring, our effects on others help the "circle" complete its circle. Each organism, family, species has its own cycle; even if it's the single organism or the species as a group. This goes for the environment as well.

Yeah, wow you really thought deep into this,I dont think I ever would have thought about this in that manner. Its brilliant actually. :0) Descartes obviously makes that relation to the tree trunk and its branches, which really suggests to me (now that I can see it this way) that the vena cava is really the ground structure of the arteries and circulation itself. In respect to all things and obstacles that create it. I love this creativity.
